Hugh Jackman and Sonia Friedman’s Together unveil 2026 Minetta Lane season

Hugh Jackman and Sonia Friedman’s theatre partnership, Together, has announced two new productions for their 2026 season at New York’s Minetta Lane Theatre. The season includes a major revival and a new commission, complementing the return of Hannah Moscovitch’s Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes.

Together’s 2026 season at Audible’s Minetta Lane Theatre will feature a revival of Tom Noonan’s What Happened Was, starring Corey Stoll and Cecily Strong. The two-hander centres on two co-workers on their first date in a Manhattan apartment. This will be the first major revival of Noonan’s work following his recent passing. Performances run from 14 April to 14 June.

The season also includes New Born, a commission comprising three monologues by Ella Hickson, performed by Marianna Gailus, Hugh Jackman, and Sepideh Moafi. The pieces depict three unrelated characters—a tree surgeon, a young woman on the prairie, and a new mother—whose stories stretch across centuries and continents. Its run begins on 8 May and ends 8 June.

All three productions—including the previously announced return of Hannah Moscovitch’s Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes—will be directed by Ian Rickson. Sexual Misconduct of the Middle Classes, starring Jackman and Ella Beatty, had its New York premiere last year and will begin performances on 17 March, running until 30 April.

Tickets for 25% of seats at every performance in the season will be priced at $35 and available on the day via TodayTix or at the Minetta Lane box office.

Both What Happened Was and New Born will be recorded and released on Audible following their stage runs.

The season marks a significant collaboration between Sonia Friedman Productions and Audible Theater, blending live performance with audio recording initiatives. It continues the partnership’s aim of bringing thought-provoking contemporary drama to the New York stage.
