Immersive Grease musical returns to London for second summer season

Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical will return to Evolution London from 22 July to 13 September 2026, offering audiences a chance to revisit the 1978 film in a unique interactive setting. The production promises an extended run following a sold-out 2025 season.

Grease: The Immersive Movie Musical invites audiences to step inside the world of Rydell High with a two and a half hour experience featuring a cast of 30 performers and a live band. The show blends live performances of iconic songs such as “Summer Nights”, “Greased Lightnin’” and “We Go Together” with multiple screens playing the original film.

The immersive format allows guests to explore different locations from the movie, including Frosty Palace, the autoshop and a carnival. Alongside observing scenes, audiences can actively participate in moments such as a pep rally and choir rehearsal, all while enjoying food and drinks inspired by a 1950s American diner.

Creative direction is led by director Matt Costain, with choreography by Jennifer Weber and a team including Tom Rogers on set design, Howard Hudson handling lighting, and Gareth Fry responsible for sound design. Steve Sidwell provides music supervision, orchestration and arrangements, supported by video design from Ian William Galloway.

Costumes are designed by Susan Kulkarni and Martina Trottman, complemented by wig, hair and make-up specialists Farida Ghedwar and Jessie Deol. Casting is overseen by Grace McInerny for Pippa Aillion and Natalie Gallacher Casting, ensuring a comprehensive production team.

The 2026 run will introduce a combination of roam and return seating, allowing audiences to move through the immersive environments before settling into allocated seats at key locations such as the Frosty Diner and the Drive-In. This format expands on the sold-out success of the 2025 season, which was praised by WhatsOnStage.

Produced by Secret Cinema and TodayTix, with artistic director Merritt Baer and executive producer Ben Hosford at the helm, the production stands as a notable example of immersive theatre adapting popular film to the stage, blending interactive performance with cinematic nostalgia.
