Just For One Day – The Live Aid Musical adds UK and Ireland tour dates for 2027

Just For One Day – The Live Aid Musical has announced additional tour dates across the UK and Ireland for 2027, following its West End run which ended last month. The major tour will open at Curve in Leicester, bringing the story of Live Aid’s creation to wider audiences.

Just For One Day – The Live Aid Musical, which chronicles Bob Geldof’s role in organising the landmark 1985 global charity concerts, will embark on a significant UK and Ireland tour starting in March 2027 at Curve in Leicester. This follows the show’s recent West End production, which concluded last month.

The musical tells the behind-the-scenes story of Live Aid, the iconic music event that took place on 13 July 1985 with simultaneous concerts in London and Philadelphia, broadcast to an estimated global audience of 1.5 billion people. Its soundtrack features songs from artists who performed at Live Aid, including Bob Dylan, David Bowie, Queen, U2, Madonna, The Who, The Police, Elton John, Paul McCartney, and Diana Ross.

Just For One Day debuted at the Old Vic in early 2024, becoming the theatre’s fastest-selling musical, before transferring to North America with a run at the CAA Ed Mirvish Theatre in Toronto. The West End production opened at the Shaftesbury Theatre in May 2025.

The show was created by writer John O’Farrell, directed by Luke Sheppard, with musical supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations by Matthew Brind. Choreography is by Ebony Molina, and casting by Stuart Burt.

The production has strong charitable ties, supporting The Band Aid Charitable Trust and having raised £1.5 million to date. The tour is produced by Jamie Wilson Productions in association with Curve.

Just For One Day was produced in the West End by a collaboration of producers including Jamie Wilson, Kevin McCollum, Sonia Friedman Productions, and others, with the Old Vic’s permission and in partnership with The Band Aid Charitable Trust.

The announcement of the tour underlines the enduring appeal of Live Aid’s story and its cultural impact, as the musical continues to engage audiences with the tale of one of music’s most significant philanthropic events.
