The Young Vic has revealed its full programme for the 2026/27 season, marking the first under artistic director Nadia Fall. Highlights include a new musical adaptation of Thelma & Louise, a collaboration with Ben Whishaw, and a new play by debbie tucker green.

The 2026/27 season at the Young Vic runs from September 2026 to July 2027, staging productions across the Main House and Maria Studio. The season opens with the world premiere musical adaptation of Thelma & Louise, featuring lead casting announced alongside the announcement.

Following this, the Main House hosts Eurotrash, an English-language adaptation of Christian Kracht’s novel by Colin Teevan and directed by Walter Meierjohann. The production sees the reunion of Ben Whishaw and Kathryn Hunter.

From January 22 to February 13, 2027, Tiago Rodrigues brings his play La Distance from France to the Young Vic, performed in French with English surtitles and starring Adama Diop and Alison Dechamps.

Debbie tucker green premieres her new play dissent, which she also directs, from March 5 to April 24, 2027. The play examines “humanity’s capacity for monstrous behaviour,” according to the venue.

The Main House season closes with August Wilson’s Gem of the Ocean, directed by Nadia Fall, running from May 14 to July 10, 2027. It marks the UK’s first staging of the play in 20 years.

In the Maria Studio, the London debut of Shedinburgh transfers from the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, performing from September 19 to October 10, 2026. Additional shows include Girls, directed by Ewa Dina and written by Theresa Ikoko, which runs from October 22 to November 21, 2026. Set during the 2014 Nigerian insurgency, the play follows three teenagers facing captivity and survival.

The Maria Studio’s diverse line-up also features artists such as Inua Ellams, Sara Pascoe, Bryony Kimmings, and Rosie Jones, with further programming to be announced.

Alongside theatre productions, the Young Vic will host events including a conversation with Daisy Fancourt on her book Art Cure on September 27, 2026, and a special edition of Inua Ellams’s R.A.P. Party inspired by the late musician D’Angelo on October 14, 2026.

The theatre will continue its Creators’ Program and partnership with the JMK Award, with applications opening in autumn 2026.
