Oh, Mary! West End run extended to January 2027 with Catherine Tate

The Tony-winning wartime comedy Oh, Mary! starring Catherine Tate has extended its West End booking until early 2027. The show’s blend of historical satire and slapstick continues to attract audiences following its Olivier Award success.

Oh, Mary! has secured an extended West End run, now confirmed through 2 January 2027. The production centres on Mary Todd Lincoln, a bored, alcoholic housewife who dreams of cabaret stardom while navigating the challenges posed by her closeted husband, the President of the United States.

Catherine Tate leads the cast as Mary Todd Lincoln in this Broadway hit, which originally opened in 2024 and was directed by Tony Award winner Sam Pinkleton. The show carries a distinctly irreverent tone, described by WhatsOnStage’s Sarah Crompton as “80 minutes of perfectly judged silliness.”

The Broadway creation comes from Cole Escola, whose work won the Olivier Award for Best New Entertainment in London. The show’s fast-paced comedic style and historical twists have made it a standout in recent theatre seasons.

The creative team behind the West End production features scenic designer dots and costume designer Holly Pierson alongside lighting designer Cha See. Sound design and composition are credited to Daniel Kluger with Drew Levy also contributing, while Leah J Loukas manages wig design and Addison Heeren oversees props.

Arrangements for the score are by David Dabbon, with casting led by Stuart Burt. The production is preparing fresh casting announcements for the summer, promising continued excitement for audiences.

Oh, Mary! remains a notable example of contemporary comedy blending historical subject matter with modern cultural commentary, maintaining its relevance and appeal in the London theatre scene.
