Rosamund Pike’s Inter Alia to stream as West End run ends

Inter Alia, starring Rosamund Pike, will be available to stream on National Theatre at Home as its West End engagement approaches its final weeks. The announcement is part of a wider addition of notable productions to the National Theatre’s digital platform.

Inter Alia, featuring Olivier Award winner Rosamund Pike as Crown Court judge Jessica Parks, will be available to UK audiences on National Theatre at Home from 7 July. The play explores the intersection of Jessica’s professional responsibilities with her role as a mother, delving into themes of justice, family and modern masculinity.

The production is currently playing in the West End and is entering its final weeks there. It reunites writer Suzie Miller and director Justin Martin, who previously collaborated on Prima Facie. Alongside its UK streaming debut, Inter Alia is set to transfer to Broadway.

The National Theatre has also added other significant titles to its streaming catalogue. Peter Morgan’s The Audience, starring Helen Mirren and directed by Stephen Daldry, is now available to watch. The play, which premiered in 2013, has won both Olivier and Tony Awards and focuses on Queen Elizabeth II’s private meetings with her 12 prime ministers.

A recent production of Hamlet, starring Hiran Abeysekera as the prince and Francesca Mills as Ophelia, will join the platform from 18 June. This revival, directed by Robert Hastie, was recorded during its run at the Lyttleton Theatre last autumn.

These new additions join a range of musicals and plays already available on National Theatre at Home, including Next to Normal, The Importance of Being Earnest, Waitress and Mrs Warren’s Profession.

The streaming platform continues to expand its reach by making acclaimed stage productions accessible to a broader UK audience at a time when live theatre experiences remain limited for some.
