Parody Musical Deep-Heat Rivalry Extends Run at The Other Palace Studio
The parody musical Deep-Heat Rivalry, inspired by the hit series Heated Rivalry, has extended its run at The Other Palace Studio in London. Written and directed by Olivier Award nominee Trevor Ashley alongside Phil Scott, the comedy blends musical theatre with ice hockey rivalry and romance.
Deep-Heat Rivalry follows the story of two rival ice hockey stars, Shane Hollandaise and Ilya Stroganoff, whose intense competition on the rink hides a growing romantic attraction. As their rivalry escalates, they are forced to confront unexpected feelings.
Created by Trevor Ashley and Phil Scott, the production is a musical comedy full of locker-room antics and innuendo, featuring a varied score that draws on multiple musical styles. Ashley directs the show, while casting details remain to be confirmed.
Trevor Ashley is known for his previous collaborations with Scott on multiple comedy and parody productions. He has also been recognised with an Olivier Award nomination for his work as both performer and writer.
Deep-Heat Rivalry originally opened on 11 September at The Other Palace Studio and will now continue its run until 11 October. The show is one of several parody musicals inspired by Heated Rivalry that are appearing across London and Edinburgh this summer.
This extension highlights a growing trend of theatrical parodies engaging audiences by riffing on popular television dramas, blending comedy, music, and cultural references in new live formats.
