Don Black’s musical revue From The Heart returns to West End with star cast

Don Black’s acclaimed musical revue From The Heart is set for a limited West End run at the Garrick Theatre this October, featuring an expanded programme and a starry cast. The production highlights the prolific lyricist’s five-decade career, including fresh material and a special guest at each performance.

From The Heart will play at London’s Garrick Theatre from 8 to 18 October 2026, marking the return of the revue that sold out during its 2025 season. The show honours Don Black’s extensive catalogue, spanning work for stage, film and television, including five James Bond themes and the Tony Award-winning Sunset Boulevard.

The production, directed by Nick Winston with musical direction by Joe Church and arrangements by Nick Barstow, will showcase new songs with music by Black’s collaborators such as Gary Barlow, Natasha Bedingfield, David Arnold, Debbie Wiseman and Mike Batt. Each performance will feature a surprise special guest.

Returning to the cast are Olivier Award winner Clive Rowe and Caroline O’Connor, with Olivier nominee Michael D. Xavier joining the line-up. Further casting details are to be announced.

From The Heart draws inspiration from the New York cabaret scene and charts Black’s career through songs, stories and collaborations. The show closes with a medley of Black’s best-known works, including hits like “Born Free”, “Ben”, “Love Changes Everything”, and “As If We Never Said Goodbye”.

Don Black, credited as one of the most prolific lyricists of all time, said of the production’s return: “I’ve been working on this show for as long as I can remember which proves that some dreams can take a long time to come true.”

Tickets for the limited ten-day run go on sale today, inviting West End audiences to revisit and celebrate the lyricist’s enduring impact on musical theatre and film.
