The Devil Wears Prada musical extends West End run to September 2027

The Devil Wears Prada has extended its booking at the Dominion Theatre, now running until late September 2027. The news follows the show’s record-breaking sales and substantial ticket demand since its December 2024 West End debut.

The West End production of The Devil Wears Prada, based on Lauren Weisberger’s 2003 novel and the 2006 film adaptation, will continue performances at the Dominion Theatre until 25 September 2027. The show follows aspiring journalist Andy as she navigates working under fashion magazine editor Miranda Priestly. It first opened at the Theatre Royal Plymouth before transferring to the Dominion in December 2024.

Since its West End opening, The Devil Wears Prada has sold over 1.2 million tickets, making it the fastest-selling production in the Dominion Theatre’s history. The musical is set to mark its 800th performance on 23 September 2026. Tickets for the extension period from 8 February to 25 September 2027 are now on sale, with a performance schedule of Monday to Saturday evenings plus Wednesday and Saturday matinees.

The production is produced by Kevin McCollum, David Furnish, and Jamie Wilson in partnership with Theatre Royal Plymouth, under licence from Buena Vista Theatrical. Matt Henry, who plays Nigel, will remain with the cast until February 2027.

The musical features music by Elton John, lyrics by Shaina Taub and Mark Sonnenblick, and a book by Kate Wetherhead. Direction and choreography are by Jerry Mitchell, with Tim Hatley on set design, Gregg Barnes responsible for costumes, Bruno Poet on lighting, Gareth Owen handling sound, and Jill Green as casting director.

An original cast recording was released the previous year, notable for including unused demo tracks by Elton John. The show’s creative team and cast contribute to its ongoing popularity and record-breaking sales.

The extension underlines the sustained commercial and popular success of musical adaptations of well-known films and novels in the West End theatre scene.
