Alice in Wonderland returns to London in summer with new season
The kaleidoscopic adaptation of Alice in Wonderland will play a London run this summer, offering a fresh take on Lewis Carroll’s classic tale with puppetry and original music.
Alice in Wonderland, directed and designed by Nate Bertone, is set to return to London stages this summer. The production, which follows a young girl’s journey down a rabbit hole into a world of surreality and intrigue, will play at Riverside Studios from 16 July to 2 August before transferring to Soho Theatre Walthamstow from 5 to 16 August.
Originally first performed in Australia in 2016, the show has attracted over 100,000 audience members worldwide. Penny Farrow’s adaptation premiered in the UK at the Marylebone Theatre and recently had an Easter season run at Riverside Studios.
The production combines original music and puppetry to bring Lewis Carroll’s characters and narrative vividly to life. It is suitable for children aged five and over and has a running time of one hour.
Produced by Ethan Walker for Broadway Haus, DEM Productions, and Nate Bertone, the show’s cast and wider creative team are yet to be announced.
This staging contributes to ongoing reinterpretations of Carroll’s work on stage, emphasising innovative design and immersive storytelling approaches.
