Further casting announced for Adrian Lester’s Cyrano de Bergerac West End transfer
The Royal Shakespeare Company has unveiled more cast members joining Adrian Lester in Cyrano de Bergerac, ahead of its West End transfer this summer. The production, directed by Simon Evans, features a new adaptation of Edmond Rostand’s classic play.
Cyrano de Bergerac will return to the West End at the Noël Coward Theatre from 13 June to 5 September 2026. The RSC’s production, originally acclaimed for its inventive adaptation by Simon Evans and Debris Stevenson, explores the witty poet and soldier’s struggle with insecurities about his appearance.
Adrian Lester reprises his role as Cyrano, with Susannah Fielding returning as Roxane. Levi Brown also returns as Christian, joined by new cast members including Joseph Christain as Edmond and Sunny Chung as Sister Claire/Madame Jodolet.
The ensemble features Philip Cumbus as Le Bret, Greer Dale-Foulkes as Abigail, Rachel Dawson as Ann-Sofie, Oliver Grant as Jean, Scott Handy as Comte de Guiche, and David Mildon as Jodolet/Carbon. Matt Mordak plays Valvert/Pierre, Daniel Norford takes on Louis, and Chris Nayak appears as Monfleury/Bernard.
Additional cast includes Christian Patterson as Ragueneau, Josh Sneesby as Raphael, and Robert Jackson as Arnauld. Taiva Hove, Joshua Maduike, and Elim Mapira will share the role of Small Boy.
The creative team behind the production includes set and costume designer Grace Smart, lighting designer Joshie Harriette, composer Alex Baranowski, and sound designer Donato Wharton. Movement direction is by Sarita Piotrowski, with fight and intimacy direction by Bethan Clark.
The production is presented by Wessex Grove, Gavin Kalin Productions, and the Royal Shakespeare Company, with the Noël Coward Theatre operated by Delfont Mackintosh Theatres. Tickets for the limited-run season are currently on sale.
