Cast revealed for West End concert premiere of new musical Rosie

The full cast has been announced for Rosie, a new musical telling the true story of Rosie Boote, which will debut in a semi-staged concert at the Adelphi Theatre in London. The one-night-only event offers a glimpse into Edwardian stage ambition and follows an award-winning studio cast album.

Rosie will receive its West End semi-staged concert premiere on 17 March 2026 at 7:30pm at the Adelphi Theatre. The musical chronicles the life of Rosie Boote, who left a convent upbringing in Ireland to pursue a career on the Edwardian West End stage, featuring an original score and lyrics by Chris Broom.

Lucy Thomas stars in the title role, supported by Will Callan as Geoffrey Taylour Marquis of Headfort and Madalena Alberto as Annie Boote. The cast also includes Charles Brunton, Desmonda Cathabel, Connor Carson, Alexander Evans, Rebecca Gilliland, Gavin James, Brady Isaacs Pearce, Jackie Pulford, Lydia Sterling, Helen Woolf, and Santi Cohen.

Adding to the ensemble, Sally Ann Triplett joins as Lady Edith and Dylan Wood as Stanley Roberts, completing the company for this semi-staged performance. Notable past credits for the cast include Les Misérables, Evita, and Wicked.

The creative team is led by director and choreographer Cressida Carré, with Charlotte Scott assisting. The production’s design elements are overseen by Steve Howell (set), Jamie Platt (lighting), Paul Smith (sound), Rachel Perry (costume supervision), and Katie Balmforth (props supervision). Yshani Perinpanayagam serves as musical director, assisted by Erika Gundesen.

Rosie’s studio cast album, released in 2024 by Cavendish Records, garnered multiple international songwriting awards with songs such as “Starlight,” “Suddenly,” and “Broken Dreams.” The studio album followed a previous Rosie showcase at Theatre Royal Drury Lane during a Lucy Thomas concert.

Presented by Cavendish Productions in collaboration with Paul Morrissey Ltd and Darren Bell Productions, the event marks the expansion of Chris Broom’s stage work. Broom has previously written for artists including Jonathan Antoine and Alessandra Paonessa.

Rosie fits within a growing trend for musical theatre to explore historical female biographies through original music, with this West End concert offering early access to what could become a larger production.
