David Fynn cast as Beetlejuice in West End debut at Prince Edward Theatre

The lead cast for Beetlejuice: The Musical has been announced, with David Fynn set to play the iconic ghost in its West End debut. The production opens at the Prince Edward Theatre in May 2026, marking the first London staging of the show.

David Fynn will star as the mischievous, spooky presence Beetlejuice in the musical’s West End run at the Prince Edward Theatre. The production is scheduled from Wednesday 20 May 2026 through Saturday 17 April 2027.

Based on the 1988 Warner Bros. film directed by Tim Burton, the story follows teenager Lydia and her encounters with recently deceased homeowners and the disruptive ghost Beetlejuice after moving into a new house.

The musical’s book is by Scott Brown and Anthony King, with music and lyrics by Eddie Perfect. The West End production will be directed by Alex Timbers, with choreography by Connor Gallagher.

The creative team features a strong design lineup including scenic designer David Korins, costume designer William Ivey Long, lighting designer Kenneth Posner, sound designer Peter Hylenski, and projection designer Peter Nigrini. The production also involves specialists in puppetry, special effects, illusions, hair, wigs, and make-up.

Casting for the show is led by Harry Blumenau, with further star names to be revealed shortly. David Fynn described the role as “both a huge honour and a slightly surreal experience,” adding he is “looking forward to bringing my own take” to the character.

Beetlejuice: The Musical originally premiered on Broadway in 2019, returned in 2022 after pandemic interruptions, and has toured extensively in the US as well as staged productions in Tokyo, Seoul, Melbourne, and Abu Dhabi.

The upcoming UK staging is produced by Crossroads Live and Warner Bros Theatre Ventures, representing the musical’s first major West End presence.
