Faye Brookes leads UK tour casting for Burlesque the Musical in 2026
The first UK tour of Burlesque the Musical has announced further casting and creative team details ahead of its opening at New Victoria Theatre in Woking in July 2026. The production, based on the 2010 film, promises a starry ensemble and a high-profile creative lineup.
Burlesque the Musical will begin its UK tour at the New Victoria Theatre, Woking, on 25 July 2026 before visiting 24 venues across the country through 2027. The show follows Ali Rose’s journey to New York, where she seeks her mother, Tess Richarde, and discovers her own voice within the vibrant world of a burlesque club.
Faye Brookes will play Tess Richarde, a role originally portrayed by Cher in the 2010 film written and directed by Steven Antin, who also serves as creative director on this production. Gracie O’Brien, previously announced, will play Ali Rose alongside Ryan Carter as Sean and Ms Loretta, Davide Fienauri as Vince, Tyler Davis as Jackson, and Vanessa Ela Young as Nikki.
The musical’s score features songs by well-known artists including Christina Aguilera, Sia, Diane Warren, Jess Folley, Todrick Hall, and Steven Antin himself. The creative direction is led by director Racky Plews, with choreography by Robin Antin and Aaron Renfree, assisted by associate choreographer Xena Gusthart.
The extensive creative team includes Tom Curran as orchestrator and arranger, Adam Langston as musical supervisor, and Rob Wicks as musical director. The design team comprises Sara Perks on set, Joshie Harriette on lighting, Marco Marco on costume and wigs alongside Jess & Jo for JJ Wigs, Dominic Skinner on make-up, and Duncan McLean handling video design.
Production management is overseen by Toby P Darvill of Production Solutions Group and general manager Kiki Stevenson for Hartshorn Hook Productions. The producers include Christina Aguilera, Adam Paulden, Jason Haigh-Ellery, Steven Antin, Clint Culpepper, and the company In Fine Company, with Toby Brewer serving as associate producer.
In addition to the touring production, a separate staging of Burlesque the Musical will open later this year at The Arts at Marble Arch in London, starring Cassidy Janson as Tess. Further casting details for this London production are yet to be announced.
This tour marks the first UK outing of the musical and brings together a notable creative team and cast to offer a fresh adaptation of the film’s story through a live theatre lens. Further tour dates beyond the initial 24 venues are expected to be confirmed.
