Heathers the Musical announces extended UK and Ireland tour into 2027
Heathers the Musical will return to UK and Ireland stages from summer 2026, with a series of new tour dates confirmed through early 2027. The show, which has enjoyed multiple West End runs and tours, continues to draw interest with its cult following and award-winning status.
Heathers the Musical is set to embark on a fresh tour across the UK and Ireland starting summer 2026, with additional dates now added through to April 2027. The schedule includes venues such as Theatre Royal Windsor, Leeds Grand Theatre, Nottingham Theatre Royal, and the Bord Gais Energy Theatre in Dublin. The tour will extend into the new year with performances at Liverpool Empire, Grand Opera House York, Birmingham Alexandra, and King’s Theatre Glasgow.
The musical is based on the 1989 cult film starring Winona Ryder and Christian Slater and was originally written by Kevin Murphy and Laurence O’Keefe. Its first theatrical outing was in Los Angeles in 2013, followed by a New York run at New World Stages in 2014. A revised version premiered in London in 2018, integrating new material that has influenced the current New York production.
Heathers has a notable track record, having played three separate West End engagements and three UK and Ireland tours. It won the Best New Musical award at the 2019 WhatsOnStage Awards, underlining its critical and popular success. The show was also filmed for streaming on the Roku Channel in 2022.
The upcoming tour’s creative team features director Andy Fickman, choreographer Gary Lloyd, designer David Shields, lighting designer Ben Cracknell, sound designer Dan Samson, and musical supervisors Jeremy Wootton and Will Joy. These returning collaborators continue to shape the show’s distinctive style and energy.
Ticket availability varies across the announced tour dates, with London dates still to be confirmed. This sustained touring effort highlights Heathers the Musical’s enduring appeal and its place in contemporary British musical theatre programming.
