Jonathan Bailey and Aimee Lou Wood lead Audible’s new Dracula adaptation

An immersive full cast audio drama of Bram Stoker’s Dracula, featuring Jonathan Bailey and Aimee Lou Wood, will premiere on Audible this autumn. The production marks a multi-language international release and an audiobook directing debut for Mary Lambert.

Audible has announced a new audio adaptation of Dracula, set for release on 1 October 2026. The English-language cast includes Jonathan Bailey as Count Dracula, Ella Purnell as Mina Murray, and Aimee Lou Wood as Lucy Westenra, with Lesley Manville among the supporting roles.

The drama follows Mina Murray’s investigation into her fiancé’s mysterious disappearance in Transylvania, constructed through letters, diary entries, and witness accounts as she confronts Dracula himself. Louis Partridge appears as Jonathan Harker, David Jonsson as Dr Seward, Johnny Flynn as Renfield, and Maggie Gyllenhaal voices Professor Van Helsing.

Directed by Mary Lambert in her audiobook directing debut, the adaptation is scripted by Robyn Ahern and features an original score by Ilan Eshkeri alongside immersive sound design. The production aims to offer a rich auditory experience of Stoker’s classic gothic tale.

The release is scheduled to launch simultaneously in five languages: English, French, Italian, Castilian Spanish, and Latin American Spanish. German and Brazilian Portuguese versions will follow in 2027, each featuring local casts led by notable regional actors such as Omar Sy and Deva Cassel in French, and Matthias Schweighöfer and Jeanne Goursaud in German.

This international approach underlines Audible’s commitment to expanding access to classic literature adaptations across multiple languages and markets. Dracula’s October release will add to the growing trend of high-profile audio dramas engaging star performers.
