Paddington The Musical extended at Savoy Theatre through 2028 after Olivier wins
Paddington The Musical, currently playing at London’s Savoy Theatre, has extended its run into February 2028 following a remarkable seven Olivier Award wins. The production, based on Michael Bond’s beloved character and the Paddington film, has been widely praised and now offers more opportunities to see the award-winning cast.
Paddington The Musical, which opened late last year to overwhelmingly positive reviews, is now booked through 13 February 2028 at the Savoy Theatre. The show boasts seven Olivier Awards and nine WhatsOnStage Awards, signalling its critical and popular acclaim.
The musical is based on A Bear Called Paddington by Michael Bond, presented by arrangement with StudioCanal, with lyrics by Tom Fletcher, a book by Jessica Swale, and direction by Luke Sheppard. WhatsOnStage gave the production a five-star thumbs up at its debut.
James Hameed and Arti Shah jointly portray Paddington, combining off-stage remote puppeteering and on-stage performance, respectively. Their work earned them a shared Olivier Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
The cast includes other Olivier winners Victoria Hamilton-Barritt as Millicent Clyde and Tom Edden as Mr Curry, alongside WhatsOnStage Award winner Timi Akinyosade playing Tony. The ensemble is supported by Amy Booth-Steel, Tarinn Callender, Delilah Bennett-Cardy, Brenda Edwards, and Bonnie Langford among others.
The production features a large ensemble cast including Joseph Bramley, Leo Collon, Stevie Hare, and Jasper Rowse sharing the role of Jonathan Brown, with a supporting ensemble of 18 performers rounding out the company.
With its extended run, Paddington The Musical has become a significant fixture in the West End, reflecting a broader appetite for family-friendly musicals inspired by beloved literary and film characters.
