The Mousetrap unveils extended cast for 75th anniversary UK and Ireland tour

Agatha Christie’s The Mousetrap has announced additional casting for its upcoming 75th anniversary UK and Ireland tour, set to begin this September. The tour features a fresh creative team and a notable line-up of actors joining the celebration of the world’s longest-running play.

The Mousetrap’s new tour, marking the play’s 75th anniversary, will launch in September with a cast that includes Nicholas Bailey and Susan Penhaligon as Major Metcalf and Mrs Boyle. Directed by Hannah Chissick, the production expands its line-up with Emily Laing as Mollie Ralston, Jack Hardwick as Giles Ralston, and Thomas Barrett as Christopher Wren.

Additional cast members joining the tour are Clare Duffy in the role of Miss Casewell, James Peake as Mr Paravicini, and Alfie Richards taking on Detective Sergeant Trotter. The casting director for the tour is Denise Silvey, supported by lighting designer Nic Farman and resident director Myles Brown.

Originally opening in 1952, The Mousetrap holds the Guinness World Record for the longest theatrical run and continues to draw audiences at St Martin’s Theatre in London’s West End. The play shows no sign of losing momentum even as it prepares to embark on this celebratory nationwide tour.

Produced by Brian Fenty, the tour is set to run into 2027. Further details on casting and the creative team are expected to be announced in due course. Plans for special events marking the 75th anniversary in London will also be revealed.

With a strong legacy and enduring popularity, The Mousetrap’s anniversary tour highlights the play’s unique place in British theatre history. The full list of tour dates is available for those wishing to catch the production on the road.
