The Play That Goes Wrong unveils 13th West End cast at Duchess Theatre

Mischief Theatre’s long-running comedy The Play That Goes Wrong has announced its 13th West End cast as it continues its run at the Duchess Theatre. The new ensemble will join the production from 2 June, keeping the farce alive for London audiences.

The Play That Goes Wrong, which opened at the Duchess Theatre in September 2014 after premiering at the Old Red Lion Theatre, has revealed its fresh cast lineup. This new group will step into the roles from early June, ensuring the show’s ongoing presence in the West End.

The current ensemble features Izzy Edmunds-Clarke, Jack Hardwick, Robert Jackson, Jonty Peach, Charlotte Scott, Mitesh Soni, Tom Wainwright and Ronnie Yorke. Understudies supporting the cast include Alex Blackie, Jake Burgum, Kitty Devlin, Louise Hoare and Ed Shamwana.

From 2 June, Ruby Ablett will take on the role of Annie, joined by Matthew Spencer as Chris, Raphael Bushay as Robert, and Luke Wilson as Jonathan. Lucinda Turner will play Sandra, with Alex Bird as Dennis, Joshua Lendon as Max and Kieron Michael as Trevor.

A new set of understudies joining the company includes Paige Round, Harry Al-Adwani, Tom Quinn, Will Bishop and Phoenix Edwards. Additionally, Winston the dog is expected to return to the stage as Winston the dog, continuing the show’s unique cast tradition.

The Play That Goes Wrong has now extended its run at the Duchess Theatre until 3 October 2027, reflecting its sustained popularity in the capital’s theatre scene. The production remains a staple of Mischief Theatre’s hit repertoire, entertaining audiences with its blend of slapstick and theatrical mishaps.

As the show moves into its thirteenth cast iteration, it maintains its status as one of the longest-running comedy hits in the West End, illustrating the enduring appeal of its chaotic humour and inventive staging.
