William Hanson joins Titanique West End cast in Criterion extension
William Hanson will make his West End debut in the extended run of Titanique at the Criterion Theatre, joining the Olivier Award-winning musical’s cast. The show merges Céline Dion’s music with a parody of the film Titanic, offering a unique theatrical experience in London.
William Hanson, known as an etiquette coach and co-host of podcasts Help I Sexted My Boss and The Luxury Podcast, will play the role of Ruth in Titanique from 9 June to 19 July, excluding 18 and 19 June. He succeeds Carl Mullaney, who performs the role until 7 June, while casting after Hanson’s departure is yet to be announced.
Titanique is co-written by Tye Blue, Marla Mindelle, and Constantine Rousouli, featuring iconic Céline Dion songs such as “My Heart Will Go On”, “All By Myself”, and “To Love You More”. The show has been described by critics as “a riotous voyage” and is noted for combining Dion’s music with parody elements of the Titanic blockbuster film.
The production is directed by Tye Blue, known for RuPaul’s Drag Race, and choreographed by Ellenore Scott, whose credits include Funny Girl and Little Shop of Horrors. The musical supervision, arrangements, and orchestrations are led by IRNE Award-winner Nicholas James Connell.
Additional casting for the Titanique extension includes Lewis Francis as The Iceberg and Nikki Wheeldon as Molly Brown. The on-stage background vocalists AJ Lewis and Joi Lurrie join alongside under-studies Finton Flynn, Josh Lovell, and Charlotte Soo. Returning cast members include Rose Galbraith as Rose, Astrid Harris as Céline Dion, Freddie King as Jack, Cameron Vear as Cal, Michael Vinsen as Victor Garber / Luigi, and background vocalist Corrine Priest.
The creative team also features set designers Gabriel Hainer Evansohn and Grace Laubacher, costume designer Alejo Vietti, lighting designer Paige Seber, sound designer Lawrence Schober, and casting directors Pearson Casting and Richard Johnston for the new cast.
Titanique continues its West End run at the Criterion Theatre, now extended through to January 2027.
