Cats musical teams with Zara for new Halloween-inspired fashion collection
The iconic Cats musical has partnered with Zara to launch a 20-piece capsule collection inspired by the show’s theatrical style. The range draws on the musical’s distinctive costumes and is available worldwide through Zara’s website and select flagship stores.
Cats, the long-running musical by Andrew Lloyd Webber with lyrics by TS Eliot, has collaborated with fashion brand Zara on a new collection released for Halloween. The capsule comprises apparel, accessories and footwear designed to evoke the feline world of the show.
Design details include faux fur texture fabrics, feline prints, distressed knitwear, sculptural tailoring and studded appliqué touches. The collection also features T-shirts printed with the Cats logo alongside denim with thematic prints.
The initiative ties directly into the visual legacy of Cats, which has featured iconic costumes representing Jellicle cats for over four decades. The campaign uses bold rainbow colours and contemporary styling to echo this theatrical aesthetic.
Cats originally premiered in London in 1981 and remains a staple of UK theatre, currently touring following a summer run at Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. The musical includes well-known songs such as “Memory,” centred on a group of Jellicle cats gathering for their Jellicle Ball.
Shoppers can find the collection on Zara’s website as well as in stores with dedicated displays at key locations including Bond Street in London, SoHo in New York and Gran Vía in Madrid.
By linking theatre and fashion, the collaboration highlights how musical costume design continues to inspire contemporary style through partnerships between cultural icons and global brands.
