Mamma Mia! extends West End run at Novello Theatre into 2027
The hit musical Mamma Mia! has confirmed an extension of its West End run at the Novello Theatre, continuing to delight London audiences well into 2027. This announcement secures the future of the long-running show known for its ABBA soundtrack and enduring popularity.
Mamma Mia!, with music and lyrics by Benny Andersson and Björn Ulvaeus, will continue its West End residency at the Novello Theatre beyond the previously scheduled closing date. The production features a book by Catherine Johnson, direction by Phyllida Lloyd, and choreography by Anthony Van Laast.
The current cast includes Sara Poyzer reprising her iconic role as Donna, a character she has portrayed for over 12 years across the West End, international tours, and other productions. Poyzer’s return underscores her long-standing association with the show.
She is joined by Kate Graham as Tanya and Nicky Swift as Rosie, completing the trio at the centre of the story. The cast also features Richard Standing as Sam, Daniel Crowder as Harry, Tamlyn Henderson as Bill, and Ellie Kingdon as Sophie.
Other members include George Maddison as Sky, Chloe Gentles as Ali, Foxy Valentine as Lisa, Joshua de La-Garde as Eddie, and Benjamin Dawson as Pepper. Emma Odell serves as cover for Donna in certain performances.
Mamma Mia! is famed for its feel-good, jukebox musical style based on ABBA’s hit songs. Its longevity in the West End reflects its broad, multigenerational appeal and its status as one of the theatre scene’s consistent successes.
This extension confirms the sustained demand for large-scale musical theatre offerings in London’s West End, maintaining Mamma Mia!’s position as a mainstay of the capital’s theatrical landscape through 2027.
