Summerhall expands 2026 Fringe line-up with 36 new shows including repeat-song act
Summerhall Arts has revealed an additional 36 shows for its 2026 Edinburgh Festival Fringe programme, featuring a diverse international assortment and a peculiar hour-long piece of repetitive music. These new announcements deepen the venue’s eclectic offering for the next summer’s festival.
The expanded Summerhall line-up includes the return of Xhloe and Natasha with their show Bigfoot Ripped My Dog In Half I Saw It and a solo effort from Adam Riches titled The Captain. Salty Brine will also present How Strange It Is (The Neutral Milk Hotel Show), highlighting the mix of theatre, comedy, dance, cabaret, circus and performance planned.
Artists and companies joining Summerhall’s programme hail from the UK as well as from regions across Europe, North America, Asia, the Middle East and Australasia. The Creepy Boys, Adam Lenson, Magnetic North, Ballaro Dance, Lightning Rod Special, OPE‑N, Sadiq Ali Company, 81 Productions and Ballet National Folklorique du Luxembourg are among the featured participants.
Summerhall has announced the recipients of its three festival awards: the Mary Dick Award with Birds of Paradise goes to Patch of Blue and 3hc for You and Me (and Whoever Comes Next); the Autopsy Award to Althea Young for The Dreaming; and the Meadows Award to Fadi Murad for Come Back Home.
Returning shows from previous seasons include Slugs and Nude Parade by The Creepy Boys, Scott Turnbull’s Surreally Good, Binge Culture’s Werewolf and Pickering’s Gin’s Speakeasy Experience. New work will also come from Nelly Kelly, Tamsin Shasha, Nathan Jonathan, Laurie Stevens, Tessa Parr and Martha Knight.
Summerhall will also reconfigure its Main Hall into a horseshoe layout for selected productions, including Ballet National Folklorique du Luxembourg’s The Great Chevalier. This architectural change aims to create a fresh audience experience for certain performances.
Among the more striking additions is an act by award-winning comedians Conk and Quiet Riot presenting Man Sings The Same Song Over And Over Again For An Hour. The details of the repeated song remain undisclosed, adding a playful element to the Fringe programme.
The newly announced shows go on sale immediately, supplementing seven productions named earlier in the year. Summerhall plans a final programme announcement on 6 May ahead of the Edinburgh Festival Fringe’s run from 6 to 31 August 2026.
