Wicked unveils 20th anniversary West End cast including Emma Kingston and Jordan Litz

The long-running West End production of Wicked has announced its 20th anniversary cast, featuring Emma Kingston and Zizi Strallen continuing in lead roles, with Jordan Litz joining from Broadway. Special performances marking the milestone will take place in September, offering fans a celebration of the show’s enduring appeal.

Wicked, the award-winning musical featuring music and lyrics by Stephen Schwartz and a book by Winnie Holzman, has revealed its cast for the 20th anniversary year in London’s West End. Emma Kingston, a WhatsOnStage Award-winner, returns as Elphaba alongside Zizi Strallen as Glinda, both continuing throughout this celebratory period.

Joining them is Jordan Litz, celebrated as the longest-running Fiyero in the musical’s history, who transfers to the West End cast from Broadway on 19 May. New additions include Claire Machin taking on Madame Morrible and Yara Fabricante making her West End debut as Nessarose.

The cast also features Michael Matus as the Wizard, Ross Carpenter as Boq, and David McKechnie as Doctor Dillamond. Laura Emmitt continues as the alternate Elphaba and Lydia Gerrard remains the standby for Glinda, supporting the core ensemble.

A large supporting company includes performers such as Leo Abad, Elizabeth Armstrong, and Hannah Taylor among others, contributing to the rich ensemble that brings the fantastical world of Wicked to life. The production is helmed by director Joe Mantello with musical staging by Wayne Cilento.

Wicked’s creative team includes Eugene Lee on scenic design, Susan Hilferty on costumes, Kenneth Posner on lighting, Tony Meola on sound, Elaine J McCarthy on projections, and Tom Watson on hair and wigs, complemented by music arrangements from Alex Lacamoire and Stephen Oremus.

The production is produced by Marc Platt, Universal Stage Productions, The Araca Group, Jon B Platt, and David Stone. Wicked remains one of the West End’s most enduring hits, currently booking through to 3 January 2027.

As part of the anniversary celebrations, special performances will be held on 26 and 27 September, with tickets available to those registered via the Wicked website, offering audiences a unique chance to partake in two decades of this theatrical phenomenon.
