Bradley Gibson returns as Hercules for final extension at Theatre Royal Drury Lane
Hercules has announced new lead casting for its final extension dates at Theatre Royal Drury Lane, with Bradley Gibson reprising his role as the titular hero. The production, featuring music by Alan Menken and a new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah, continues to attract attention on the West End.
Bradley Gibson will return to the role of Hercules from 29 June as the show prepares to close its run with an extended engagement at Theatre Royal Drury Lane. The production originally opened there last summer, with Gibson having originated the role previously, and this marks his West End debut.
Hercules features music by Alan Menken and lyrics by David Zippel, with a new book by Robert Horn and Kwame Kwei-Armah. It is directed and choreographed by Casey Nicholaw, with co-choreography by Tanisha Scott, and is based on the 1997 Walt Disney animated film directed by John Musker and Ron Clements.
The original animated film won Best Animation Feature at the Los Angeles Film Critics Association Awards and was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Original Song for “Go the Distance.” The stage adaptation garnered three WhatsOnStage Award nominations including Best New Musical.
The current cast includes Luke Brady as Hercules, Mae Ann Jorolan as Meg, Trevor Dion Nicholas as Phil, and Stephen Carlile as Hades. The Muses are played by Leslie Beehann, Candace Furbert, Sharlene Hector, Brianna Ogunbawo, and Robyn Rose-Li, with standby Muses Kamilla Fernandes and Kimmy Edwards also featured.
Other cast members include Craig Gallivan and Lee Zarrett as Bob and Charles. Further casting details for the final extension are yet to be announced.
The design team is led by scenic and additional video designer Dane Laffrey, with Gregg Barnes and Sky Switser on costume design. Lighting is by Jeff Croiter, sound by Adam Fisher, video design by George Reeve, and special effects by Jeremy Chernick.
Dance music arrangements are by David Chase, who also provides dance arrangements alongside orchestrators Danny Troob and Joseph Joubert. Hair and wig design is by Mia M Neal, and make-up design by Kirk Cambridge-Del Pesche.
Hercules concludes its West End season on 5 September 2026 after this final extension, closing what has been a notable presence at Theatre Royal Drury Lane.
