Total Eclipse, a one-night concert gala paying tribute to the late Jim Steinman, will take place on 3 May 2026 at the London Coliseum. The show unites guest vocalists with the English National Opera orchestra and a live rock band, performing Steinman’s iconic compositions.
The event is produced by Tony Award nominee Tyce Green alongside executive producers Darren Bell and Sam Quested. Green, who has recorded with Steinman, will also perform alongside Bat Out Of Hell – The Musical alumni Glenn Adamson and Danielle Steers.
Adding to the already announced line-up are vocalists Christina Bianco, Zoe Birkett, Karine Hannah, Natalie May Paris and RED. The concert will showcase new orchestrations of beloved Steinman hits including “Bat Out of Hell,” “Total Eclipse of the Heart” and “I Would Do Anything for Love (But I Won’t Do That).”
Musical direction and conducting duties are led by Jack Bennett, known for Here and Now, and the production is directed by Chris Clegg, whose previous credits include The Diana MixTape. The show promises a blend of rock energy and operatic power in tribute to Steinman’s distinctive style.
Total Eclipse reflects continued interest in revisiting Steinman’s influential songwriting beyond his original musicals and rock albums. The event brings together musical theatre stars and classical musicians, highlighting Steinman’s cross-genre appeal.
Further names are expected to join the line-up, with full details to be confirmed closer to the performance date. The gala stands as a unique celebration of Steinman’s legacy on the London stage.
