Park Theatre adds Jason Isaacs and Michelle Dockery to Whodunnit [Unrehearsed] 4 cast
Park Theatre has revealed further celebrity names for Whodunnit [Unrehearsed] 4, its immersive fundraising comedy, alongside new show extensions announced for late June. This year’s event transforms the venue into a Wild West town, promising a lively, interactive theatrical experience.
Whodunnit [Unrehearsed] 4, running at Park Theatre, has added Jason Isaacs, Michelle Dockery, Romesh Ranganathan, Angela Griffin and Milton Jones to the line-up of star guest sheriffs. These unprepared actors will take on the central role of Sheriff in an unscripted performance supported by live prompt earpieces.
The production immerses audiences in the Wild West town of Graveside, with the theatre’s exterior redesigned as a Western streetscape. Visitors enter the show through the street outside, continuing through the foyers, bars and auditoria, all dressed with themed props including hay bales and barrels.
Regular audiences will find Park90 transformed into The Last Chance Saloon for cabaret seating and Band A+ ticket holders. Here, guests are offered themed food and drink, live performances and interactive elements, such as audience members participating as onstage bartenders.
A community chorus roams the building, performing and engaging with the audience in public areas, while front-of-house staff remain in character to maintain the immersive atmosphere. Audience members are encouraged to arrive early, dress in Western costume, make use of the dressing-up station and visit the photo booth.
The company includes a supporting cast featuring Toby Baddeley, Caroline Deverill, Gabriel Fogarty-Graveson and others, alongside Ian McKellen, who provides voice work throughout the production. A house band combines piano, banjo, fiddle and percussion to open the show with a pre-performance set.
Previous guest sheriffs announced for Whodunnit [Unrehearsed] 4 include Gillian Anderson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Emma Thompson and Jodie Whittaker. The addition of new names continues the event’s tradition of star-studded, improvised comedy.
As a fundraising event, Whodunnit [Unrehearsed] supports Park Theatre’s building costs, new writing development, and community and education programmes. The theatre operates without regular public subsidy, relying on such events for vital income.
The production’s blend of music, comedy, audience participation and immersive environment exemplifies Park Theatre’s engagement with interactive and community-focused theatre experiences. Two extra performances will take place on 28 June, offering further chances to witness this unique event.
