StarKid’s The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals announces full West End cast for Apollo run
StarKid Theatre has confirmed the full cast for its West End debut, The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals, which will play the Apollo Theatre in May 2026. The show, popular online since 2018, will mark StarKid’s first London stage appearance with a full-length production.
StarKid’s The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals will run at the Apollo Theatre from 14 to 30 May 2026, with performances Tuesday to Saturday at 7.30pm, plus matinees on Saturdays at 2.30pm and Sundays at 2pm and 7pm. The show follows Paul Matthews, whose life is turned upside down when his town begins breaking into song after an alien arrival.
The production is directed by Lauren Lopez and features a book by Nick and Matt Lang, music and lyrics by Jeff Blim, and choreography by James Tolbert. The cast includes Jon Matteson as Paul Matthews, Joey Richter as Ted Spankoffski, Jeff Blim as Sam Sweetly, and Jaime Lyn Beatty as Charlotte Sweetly.
Additional cast members include Mariah Rose Faith Casillas in multiple roles, Corey Dorris as Bill Woodward, Iván Fernández González as Professor Hidgens, alongside Oonagh Cox, Connor Keetley, Emily Ooi, Davis Weaver, and Lauren Lopez herself playing Emma Perkins.
StarKid first emerged in 2009 with A Very Potter Musical, gaining a strong online following thanks to its viral success. The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals originally premiered online in 2018 and has since amassed more than 9.4 million views on YouTube. A recent revival took place in California prior to this London staging.
This West End production marks the first time The Guy Who Didn’t Like Musicals has been performed on a London stage, expanding StarKid’s reach beyond its initial digital audience. The company previously appeared in the UK at The London Palladium with shorter shows It’s StarKid Innit in 2024 and I Can’t Believe It’s Been a Little Less Than a Year in 2025.
