Secret Cinema announces immersive Pirates of the Caribbean show for 2027 launch

Secret Cinema will bring Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean to life in London with an immersive theatrical experience opening in early 2027. The production promises cinematic-scale sets, live performances, stunts, and music, marking a new kind of storytelling for the popular franchise.

Secret Cinema, known for its inventive immersive events, will stage Disney’s Pirates of the Caribbean: The Immersive Adventure at a new flagship venue on Greenwich Peninsula from February 2027, with exact dates yet to be confirmed. The show will centre on the story of Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, featuring iconic characters and familiar settings such as the raucous port of Tortuga and the pirate ship the Black Pearl.

The production will blend live theatre, stunt work, aerial performances, and a live band to create an interactive experience where audiences become participants rather than mere spectators. Merritt Baer, Secret Cinema’s artistic director, described it as “the ultimate cinematic adventure” offering “high jinks on the high seas” with swordfights and swashbuckling pirates.

This new spectacle will become the first show to open Secret Cinema’s long-term venue located minutes from The O2 in London’s Greenwich Peninsula area. Baer expressed excitement about launching the venue and delivering their “most ambitious production ever,” aiming to blur the lines between film, theatre, and live spectacle.

Disney Theatrical Group is collaborating closely on the project as part of its broader strategy to expand storytelling into immersive and participatory formats. Angelo Desimini, senior vice president at Disney Theatrical Group, highlighted the franchise’s suitability for such an immersive experience, praising Secret Cinema’s “extraordinary craftsmanship and narrative ambition.”

Tickets for Pirates of the Caribbean: The Immersive Adventure will go on general sale on 1 June 2026, with early presale access available from 19 May via O2 Priority and additional opportunities through TodayTix, Disney, and Visa. Registration for presale access is currently open at the official production website.

The venture marks a significant development in live immersive theatre by adapting a major cinematic franchise into a shared live adventure, combining theatrical performance, music, and cinematic storytelling within a purpose-built venue.
